TERT Member has 6 main objectives including TERT History and overview of the WA APCO/NENA TERT Program, how to mentally prepare for a deployment – understanding the philosophy of service, How to physically prepare for deployment, Interpersonal communications, behavioral expectations, understanding the disaster environment and your personal safety & security, the WA TERT Deployment process

TERT Leader covers topics that pertain to an individual assigned as the TERT Leader for a TERT deployment process in WA State. Topics include: the pre-deployment planning process, departure & enroute period planning, the requirements of and planning for the deployment period, pre-departure preparation and planning, and post-deployment requirements.

The following pre-requisites are required in order for registration to be accepted:

Course Participants must have:
-A signed letter of support from their agency director or already on file with State TERT Coordinator
-A minimum of 2 years of Public Safety Telecommunicator experience, and
-Must have completed Telecommunicator 1
-Desired: completion of Telecommunicator 2

FEMA courses required:
IS-100 Introduction to the Incident Command System (ICS 100)
IS-144 Telecommunicators Emergency Response Taskforce (TERT) Basic Course
IS-200 ICS for Single Resource and Initial Action Incidents
IS-700 National Incident Management System (NIMS) An Introduction.
IS-800 National Response Framework, an Introduction
IS-1200 TERT Team Leader Course
