This class is ideal for training newly hired dispatchers or as a refresher for existing employees. This course covers the basic skills, knowledge and abilities that a public safety telecommunications dispatcher needs.

Some of the topics covered include Skills/Traits/ Knowledge of an effective law enforcement or fire dispatcher, 4 core questions, Customer Service, Group/Team Dynamics, Voice, Speech, Phrasing, Terminology and Standardization, Call formatting, EMS, Prioritization, Responder safety, Dispatch Methods for Law Enforcement, Fire Operations, Incident Command System (ICS), High Risk Calls, Stress Management, CISM and Active Shooter. This is also a great chance to network with other agencies in Washington and expand your knowledge and skill set.
